A Virtual Appliance that has been archived as Tarball and compressed as  gZip in a single file with the extension .ova

The OVA typically contains three files:

  • The disk: <VMname>.vmdk
  • The XML Definition: <VMname>.ovf
  • SHA1 Thumbprint: <VMname>.mf
